Everything you need to know about Student Council: There are a lot of things student council members do. The main focus in student council is to learn leadership skills that can help you in anything from being the president of the United States to being the owner of a lemonade stand. People can also have a large say in projects such as Lion Share. Some fun stuff to do in Student Council include going on retreats with the rest of the club, bonding activities, going to nationals and meeting with other student council members throughout the state. In student council you also have large “deep” group conversations about anything.
Activities by Student Council that impact the community are:
- MVHS Dances
- Canned food drives
- A cell phone class for senior citizens
- Senior staff basket ball
- Charity (Lion Share)
- Back to school night
- Eighth grade registration
- MVHS Garbage clean up
- Outdoor movie night
How do You join Student Council? To join Student Council you must fill out an application. You can find them in the main offices. After filling the application out you can turn it into the Stuco box in the copy center, or you can turn it into Mrs. Harris. After we are done looking through the applications you may be asked to go to an interview. After this process you will know if you made it into student council or not. Applications are due sometime in March.
