Mountain View High School is all about CONNECTIONS…connections among students and teachers, connections among teachers of one discipline with teachers of anotherdiscipline, and the whole school with Loveland private and business communities. MVHS is the newest high school in the district and was built as a center-based ultra-modern school, broken into smaller learning communities. We also offer parents of freshmen a special back-to-school night each September. MVHS staff takes great pride in their ability to establish caring relationships with students, because our families and students must, “know how much we care, before they will care how much we know.”
Special Programs: Loveland Area Integrated School of the Arts or LISA, Pre-Engineering Project Lead the Way, Gifted and Talented curriculums, college-credit classes, Pre-AP/Honors and 14 Advanced Placement™ Courses, Honor’s Scholar Diploma, Modern High Technology Lab, updated computer labs, school-to-career counseling services, and a new state-of-the-art 550-seat performance auditorium. MVHS offers extensive academic intervention programs for 9th ad 10th graders who must accelerate to grade level in reading, writing, and/or mathematics.
Parent Involvement: Building accountability committee (4th Tuesday of each month at 7 A.M.), parent volunteers in the school daily, school-to-business programs, and activity booster clubs.
Student Activities: Enrichment activities include Forensics/Speech/Debate, Student Leadership (formerly known as student council), LINK CREW for 9th grade high school transition combined with upper class student leadership, shadowing and internship experiences through the School-to-Career program, DECA for marketing, FBLA for business, FCCLA for Consumer and Family Sciences, Technology Students of America, FCA, Odyssey of the Mind, ski club, art club, National Honor Society, and Caught in the Act Theater group. Other activities include 20 athletic

Other Information: Seventy-one percent of the graduates in the Class of 2007 reported going to a 4-year college/university, a 2-year college, or a vocational/technical school. Our 2008 Odyssey of the Mind Team participated in the World Competition in Maryland, and was one of the top two teams in Colorado. MVHS is one of the top ten high schools in the United States for implementation of Positive Behavior Support practices and principles.
