About Us
Mountain View High School is all about CONNECTIONS…connections among students and teachers, connections among teachers of one discipline with teachers of another discipline, and the whole school with Loveland private and business communities. MVHS is the newest high school in the district and was built as a center-based ultra-modern school, broken into smaller learning communities.
Thompson School District
The Thompson School District is the 16th largest school district in Colorado, encompassing 362 square miles, and is the largest employer in Loveland and Berthoud. We are a pre-K through 12th grade district with 11 early childhood centers, 20 elementary schools, five middle schools, five high schools and two charter schools. Our district includes the cities of Loveland, Berthoud and the southern part of Fort Collins as well as parts of Larimer, Weld and Boulder counties.

Accomplishments
MVHS is rated as a PERFORMANCE school. Performance is the highest rating for a school under Colorado’s new school accountability system. The other and lower ratings are: IMPROVEMENT, PRIORITY, and TURNAROUND. The following PDF is an 2012-2013 School Profile for Mountain View High School. We truly believe that, “learning and thinking are our most important jobs,” and our performance school rating is another piece of evidence toward our many successes. click the “accomplishments” link to the side for more information!
Positive Behavior Interventions and Support
For over three years, MVHS has been recognized as one of the top 10 high schools in the nation for implementing school-wide positive behavior interventions and support (PBIS). A team from MVHS participated in a national think-tank seminar in Chicago in June 2009, to showcase our PBIS work and help write a chapter in a book on PBIS at the high school level.
A team of MVHS staff and parents meet every month to collaborate and constantly “plan, do , check and adjust” our behavior interventions and supports on a school-wide basis. MVHS is honored to be recognized as a national exemplar PBIS program, and know we live PRIDE, OWNERSHIP, WORK, EFFORT, and RESPECT every day.
